Fully Textured Models

Post by RIDLER »

Hello everyone, I need a little bit of help. I'm wondering if there is a way to export fully textured models from Halo?

When I open the .obj file with MilkShape 3d I dont have any textures.

Thanks for the help.

well u can put the textures on them the bitmaps anyway but ull need something besides milkshape to apply them, like 3dmax, maya, lightwave, etc. not sure if gmax can, but u cant render with it so dont know what u would use it for.

Well with Milkshape you can add material and choose an image for that, but then you have to align the textures and I dont know how to do that too well. What I was mainly asking was, is there a way to get the textures and models to be properly aligned with each other..Like just open the .dds then save to .bmp then load it to the model and it all be ligned up.

3d max haha, just get the demo, all u have to do is apply it, im sure milkshape is the same, cause if u look at a bitmap of halo u see how the weapon or object is just cut up? well that is done cause that is how the program splits a 3d object into a 2d plane so when u put it on it should still just go on perfectly, but milkshape is a very bad program compared to alot so it might not but if milkshape cant do it and u need it then just go to discreet.com and get the max demo then u can make good renders and animate too after some practice
