PELICAN MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RACE IS ON!!!!!

Lol, that got ur attention. I wish for someone to make a mod where you can have 1 or more Pelican(s) in a MP map, maybe in place of a tank or something. Impervious to most damage (maybe like if you are in a super-defensive tank?), has no offensive weapons. Tanks and such can be loaded onto it, making for a quick transport of weapons, people, vehicles, etc. This would be nice for Death Island, Timberland, Sidewinder, or Danger Canyon. Pelicans are easy, and I mean really easy, to mod for SP, so MP shouldnt be much of a challenge.

EDIT:
In SP, SC to be exact, Foehammer drops a hog, which can be replaced for a Pelican ( I have that mod on my comp, flying the Pelican tough, but once you get the hang of it, it really fun). Now, why can someone mod so that all rocket hogs, or banshees, or some vehicle can be replaced with a Pelican. And the tanks' sheer weight should keep it in the Pelican, if you want to transport it. In SP, the pelican has seats, which the Marines jump into. My idea is the same, only that you have a Pelican and you put in a hog, or a tank, or half your team. Then you just land outside of enemy base and storm. Death Island seems empty without the whole Pelican insertion and extraction thing.

replace the warthog and theyll drop vehicals.......

i cant think of anything else....

hey can you add seats to a vehical?

Yes I know how to do that, I've made a Pelican drop you off a banshee on SC for cryin out loud. But what he's suggesting is giving the flyer of the pelican (ie you) the ability to pick up and drop vehicles at will.

I think you oughtta play Breed once it's out. I won't tell you all about the game, it's too big to do that. But I can tell you that there's one big mutha' mothership which has dropships inside it that can carry both vehicles and units and transport them through the earth's atmosphere (read: realtime) and land them on the planet's surface.

I guess it'll look a bit more impressive than dropping off a warthog from a Pelican in BG, but then again it's not a mad; It's a full game :? [/url]

this looks like a herd af little kids to me. you cannot make it so that the pelican drops vehicles in my experience, while your driving it at least, because you cannot get in a pelican with a vehicle to drop. even then, it has no key to drop the vehicle. and putting vehicles in mp is impossible as of now, or to get them to look right. i can put all sorts of stuff in mp if i want, but most of the stuff has models and will look extremely shitty. it cant be done yet. read monoxide's sticky im the hmt section. a normal looking vehicle wont happen.

tis possible, but instead of a pelican, you get a grey octopus crawling over the entire map.

Octopus????
I believe the octopus he is reffering to are the one small type of flood, as they really do resemble octopusses.

no the pelican looks like an octopus when u import it to single player it goes everywhere

oh, ok. My bad.


But, about the Mod, impervious to most damage? Umm... you've beaten the game, correct? The Banshees took dowm Echo-419 with no problem at all...

Sorry to flame you but... that was a scripted sequence in the game. The Pelican's actually have infinite health and cannot be destroyed.

Ok, just to set the record strait. I will post.


I downloaded a mod which lets me fly the Pelican. Pelicans replace all warthogs on the SP map of SC. Now, on the beach when you first start, Foehammer drops a Pelican. You flip it over, get in (walking on back or jumping into cockpit). Your Marines file in (all but one, who cant fit) and you go off. You can play half the lvl with just the Pelican. If you can do that for SP, why not for MP?

The marines never get back out of the pelican once the get in... I suppose they feel safe in there.

nuthin about the mod but you can use the jump button it acends, and the shift button decends :D

Unless you edit the collision model.
