ADI 2.0 and Problem with Map Loading

Post by dizztro »

Sup, new to the sceen and got just a few questions.
My questions are regarding XBOX and HALO 2 Pal version. The utility I'm using is ADI 2.0.0.

So I download the "coagulation" map off my Xbox HD and load it up into ADI. The first thing I do is change simple things such as jump height and throw distance for both elite and masterchief. I then close the program after changing to the numbers that I prefer, and upload that map back to the xbox keeping an original backup of coagualtion just in case. I load up the map and both the jump and the gernade toss work just fine.

Next, I tried to increase the strength of some weapons such as the magnum. So I open cogulation back up in ADI, click [jpt!] Damage Effects and select objects\weapons\pistol\magnum\damage_effects\magnum_bullet.
Now, I change "Max Radius" From 8 to 15, "Damage" from 8 to 15, and "Damage 1" from 8 to 15. Again, close the program, upload the map to xbox and soon as I try to load the map I get a "Map Failed to Load".

Afterwards, I went back to the pistol and did as many different combinations as possible, i.e. changing just the Max radius and Damage, then just the Damage, etc. None of it helped and everytime I kept getting the "Map Failed to Load" error.

So I figured I wouldn't mess with the pistol and just decided to customize the warthog with boost. Resetting the pistol settings all back to 8 as it was, I click on [vehi] Vehicle, and chose objects\vehicles\warthog\warthog. I tick in the box that says "Has Boost" and close the window. Again, upload it, and again, "Map Failed to Load".

It seems EVERYTHING I do causes the map to fail to load. The only thing that works is the jump and the toss distance so far.

Anyone know what the problem could be? Am I missing something or is this just my luck.

Thanks in advance and if I'm missing some information required to come up with a conclusion, please let me know I'm going to be keeping close attention to this thread in case something comes up.

Whew, Lot of typing.

you gonna want to kick your self but after your done modding the map go to Tools > Checksum recalculator

this is known as resigning the map. It should work just fine now

Is it just me, cause I don't see a "Tools" option available in ADI? Am I missing something?? Only tabs I see are, File, View, Resources, and About?

if you want you could just close the map after changing the things. Open the map in dothalo and fix encryption then close it and send it to the box

Figured it out, thanks a lot man. Couldn't believe how simple it actually was. If I could I would kick myself. Thanks again SantaMayCry, and everyone else for the quick responses. Keep up the great work on keeping the forum active and educating newcomers like myself in the scene.
