Why clear X Y and Z cache?
Why does everyone tell you to? Does it really matter?

Re: Why clear X Y and Z cache?
The cache are temporary files stored on your xbox for quicker loading. (So Halo/Halo 2 doesnt need to uncompress them all the time). The xbox looks to this cache. If you screw up a map, a screwed up cache will be created. You can fix the problem with the map, but the cache will still be there. Clearing the cache just removes everything so your games can create fresh new ones.
