Why can't I open HMT (or any .rar files?)

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Why can't I open HMT (or any .rar files?)

I've installed the .netFrame and the .netFrame SNK thing, I've put the dds.81b (may have got the name wrong) plug-in into my full copy of Jasc Photoshop 8.0...what am I missing? I don't have the program to open HMT3....what do I need to download / do? I tried searching around this forum and various other forums, downloading and installing shizzo, but to no avail. =(

Er, and to do with skinning and modelling, I really want to do skinning, I did a lot of skins for C&C: Renegade, and I apparently need to run HMT3 to skin...

Well mainly Jasc makes PaintShop Pro, not Photoshop, so the plugin doesn't work with it. You don't have the program to open HMT3? I'm assuming you mean .rar files. Head on over to www.rarsoft.com and pick up WinRAR to uncompress .rar files.

Oh...you're right, lol. I have PaintShop Pro, not Photoshop. I used PaintShop Pro to make all of my Renegade skins flawlessly, though. Am I able ot use Jasc PaintSho Pro 8.0, or must I download a 30-day free trial of Photoshop?

Ah okay, ty for the WinRAR thing, that's what I was missing. I can edit it in Jasc PSP8, now I just got to read up on the various tutorials out there. I just opened up the map bloodgulch, then saved a .dds file of the warthog texture, then opened it up w/ Jasc PSP8, did some changes, saved it as DXT1 Alpha...but it's not recognized in HTM3 (does it have to be a .map, I wonder?).
