how would u go about giving, for example a grenade, the ability to go thru a teleporter and still blow up? this could get interesting with nukes and rerouting the teleporters to eachothers base's
I'm gonna try to think like a machine and give my best guess for this one. The game doesn't allow any object that isn't a player to travel through a teleporter (except whatever the player's carrying). So we've got only bipeds, perhaps even only the cyborg biped, using the teleporters. There may be even more restrictions than that; I've never tried shooting a cyborg from a gun into the teleporter or anything. Anyway, I don't see any way of fooling the engine into letting a projectile through like a player. My best guess is that it's probably impossible to do with our current resources. I bet it would require a massive reworking of how the teleporters work, and we just can't do that kind of thing now. Will it be possible with the SDK? There's a chance, but I'm gonna say it's not likely. Maybe some hardcore modding expert will be able to pull it off someday, but don't count on it.
well the real question is what is the restrictor: the teleporter or the biped? does the teleporter say only bipeds can come in, or does the biped say it has access to a teleporter? my guess is the teleporter is the restrictor and ill be lookin into this more and will post results but would love to hear ur guys' input

Well if the bipeds you create with say a pistol don't go through, then it must have some other method of deciding what goes through. It may just be that there's some code in the game (not map files) that decides if MC (your character, only the one played by the current player) is on a teleporter, move him to it's target. If so, HMT won't be able to help with this. You'll have to wait for Halo's SDK.

It's not going to be the biped. I can tell you that right now 100% sure. It's going to be the player tag. Whatever defines which object is player controlled is most likely going to be also what tells the program to add the translation matrix to the matrix for the object of the player. That's my guess.
