saving .maps

how do i save copies of the original .map's on my hdd?

If you have un-tainted (not modifyed) map files on your computer, then all you need to go is go to your ...Halo\MAPS directory and select all (ctrl+a [command+a for Macs]) then copy with control+c (command+c) and paste into a new directory with ctrl+v or command+v.

do you know how big the files might be?

or you could save that space on your hd and just use the original maps in the cab files (filescab/cab#.cab) on ur halo cd as the backups
