problem with installing mods

Post by Twibo »

hi all, i'm a new french register on this forum but an old moding user and recently i tryed to begin again using modding on my Halo PC. So i explain you my problem: i'll take an exemple of mods, i take the last Decoy's mod (floodgulch). Ok next i download the mod, i install it correctly (with replacing the bloodgulch.map by the moded, i put the complete folder custom gametype on my "savedgame" folder) then i launch Halo.
i select multiplayer game, lan, bloodgulch and i select the floodgulch gametype
then there's a loading and at the end of this, there's a red screen with a "frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" sound and it make my computer laging...
then i've to restart my comp everytime i try it...
so plz could someone help me because i dont understand where the problem comes from...
is it a graphic card problem? is my computer too old for the recent mods?

PS: it also hapen with others map (for ex, i try to put a mod on beaver creek, but it doesnt work... then i download an other mod for beaver creek, and this worked! it was the carnage creek which worked)

PSS: sorry if you didn't understand all what i wanted to say but i'm a french guy... :P

Your ui.map and bitmaps.map are totally scrwed up. Proberly because of a mod that didn't work right.
Replace them by the original, you can do this by reinstalling halo but there are many other ways.
