buy any usb device or usb extension cable, cut the male end off, leaving at least 3 inches of wire
strip the longer end of the breakaway cable for the controller (the part that connects to the xbox) twist the wire shielding into a single strand and remove the foil shielding to expose the wires. strip some of the outer part of the usb cable, then strip about 1/8-1/4" on each wire, doing the same on the breakaway cable (excluding the yellow wire) then just match them up and solder them together
tape it all up and your done

Wow, that way's so ghetto. Lol, if you want to actually USE the xbox control for both without risking the death of it then yes, buy an adapter.

I have an adapter for one, works just fine, but the controller joysticks are too sensitive and almost any game picks up any type of movement.

There are others out there, I just use this one.

my homemade adapter works fine for pc and xbox

and to decrease sensitivity, i think you can just increase the deadzone
