If you can guess what this is.....

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

I'd guess part of a flamethrower or part of the beam rifle since it would seem logical to help release heat with holes.

Yeah, d what the man said and tell us. Or else. *sounds of a gun cocking*

I honestly know nothing of todays guns. You say some gun and I won't have a clue. Real guns are boring anyway. What I like to see is fantasy guns. Like real hardcore metal guns, with lots of sharp edges and stuff.

Something original is alot more interesting than some gun tons of people have made before.
Good bye.

i have to admit that that is a kick ass model and is very good. but its not able tyo go into halo two high polly. its good for show but unless youlower the loppy its not readile usable. although i was just wondering um... is there an easier way of cutting holes in objects? i mean instead of creating a tube removing the ends fliping it inside out and deleting faces attaching the tube to the object and then creating new faces to attach the tube and the object together. if you could tell me id be eternally greatfull

There is this tool in max we like to call boolean.

Go to the command toolbar, click on the rollout that says extended primitves and go down to compound objects. Click the boolean button and click 'pick operand B' then click the object you want to cut away with. The object that does the cutting has to be in contact with the object being drilled.

If you get open edges you can fix them up with create face in convert to mesh.
Good bye.

Boolean really screws up with polygon formation. If you are serious about making something really nice, don't use boolean. You wil lregret it in the end.

It was already guessed, as an as50, and Katarn told him it was. Or so that is how I understood the ocnversation.

Very, very nice.

And Pie's right. Boolean screws up the model, although I still use it because SOMEONE hasn't told me what else to use.

what else to use?? plane modeling. straight and simple. or cut lines and delete polys. then make polies inside. yada yada yada, you really need a tutorial.

of course, hella nice, Katarn.
