Halo 2 Sounds?

Is there any way to extract Halo 2 sound files from a Halo 2 map, and then inject it into the sounds.map file for Halo PC to basicly swap out Halo PC sounds with Halo 2 sounds? I am not sure if there would be any conversion required for the audio files, just thought I would rather have Halo 2 sounds than boring Halo 1 sounds. Thank you

Yes, it IS possible, but halomods doesn't support Halo 2 Ripping.

Actually, it's been done before on this site. I have a file I transfered to my site. Go to my downloads section and check under the Gyro Apocalypse downloads. It's the Blood Gulch file (.ppf), which contains Halo 2 sounds. This way you don't have to rip them from the game

I think you have to find the offsets to the music in Halo 2 and replace them using a hex editor for Halo PC.

I know this is an older post, but I've been kinda wondering about this too. I have an old mod on my site where Halo 2 sounds were used in Halo PC, but I'm not sure how they did it. Even if THIS site doesn't support that kinda thing (which it should), does anyone know where I can find the info on how to do it? Or for that matter, does anyone know where I can download the sound effects if you won't tell me how to extract them from Halo 2 and inject them into Halo PC? Much thanx!
