I need step by step instructions for making a new map!

Ok, i know this has problably been asked a lot but, can some one plez give me a step by step walk through on how to make a map.
Like a "Map making for Dummies" type thing. . I have HEK, and i need help for it too. I want to start off simple then move on to complez maps like Area 54 once i get the hang of it. Can some one plez help me?!
