Removing the in-game name headers (for PC)

I want to remove the name header that appears when someone comes into your targeting reticle.

I have the offsets list and a decent hex-editor and have managed to change Battle Creek's name to say Beaver Creek in beavercreek.map.

Has this been done before or can someone help with this? I know someone who has done it with Blood Gulch but I'm asking for help here.
