Sound and Mic problem

ok i have a built in sound card in my motherboard like every 1 els but i also have a Creative sound blast audigy 2 zs sound card on the sound card i have 3 analog ports which are Orange Green and Black <i think>
and 2 other ports to my external sound with all the extra junk on it {no normal analog port}
so this forces me 2 plug both my mic and headphone in the back of my pc {the mother board sound card} and i get nothing all the sound ports comeing my mother board arent turned on sum how or arent working


can some 1 give me some ideas on what 2 do do i have 2 change some sound propertys or what can some 1 plz help me
