Hi. I've devised a complex and sloppy method of pulling sounds from the Halo maps using HMT v3.5. I'm not sure if it's the player I'm using or HMT itself, but it chops off the last 1/5th second in the sound, which makes dialogue sound sloppy. Therefore I'm looking for another route, and trying out Tool.exe, since I saw something in there regarding sound effects. However, nothing I try makes a dent in the program! It spits out the same improper grammar message, and I don't know what to put into it. Is SFX extraction not what the function is used for?
EDIT: Can Guerilla open maps in Halo PC or CE? It gives me this "set your working directory" error. Is there a way to do this?
What is Tool.exe telling me? Sounds question

First off, screw HMT, its only good for getting meta files to be converted to .tag form (wich sadly, the locals are not smart enough to even try converting tags with a hex editor) But, Your problem is in the file itself, first off, run this cammand from tool
tool sounds sound\_____\_____ xbox 1
or just use tool++ and use the cammand: sounds-by-type its a little easyer.

........dont ask for tag converting help........
What I want to know is if it's possible to go into a map (a completed one) and extract sound and dialogue from it using any program you're aware of. If not direct extraction, then at least playing the sound so that I can record it with Audacity. I've already got most of the gameplay SFX with Guerilla, but I'm trying for SP dialogue now.
u can extract a sound with hmt and then play the extracted ogg file with goldwave: http://www.goldwave.com/release.php goldwave can save the file as a bunch of filetypes so thats how u would do it
