Complicated Question About Distance and Appearance

Situation:

When looking at a ghost from a distance, it's black. When I get close, It chnges to it's normal colors.



Example:

When looking at the ghost from far away, it appears black just like looking at a needler and it appears plain.

To change how the needler looks from far away, you have to change the file at the section bitmaps objects\weapons\pistol\needler\bitmaps\needler_card


Problem:

Now what I dont understand is what file can i change to change how the ghost looks from a distance? I think that there is some kind of setting on how far a person can look at something while its appearance still looks normal. This may be something that can't be done, so I think it's impossible.

open the .dds file and make sure u show mip maps, fix them, then make sure u save it using existing mip maps

Or you can use the machinima companion(7th Sanctum Starter kit) to remove the LOD (low level bitmaps)

If I remove the LOD from the ghost, will it look normal when looking at it from a far distance?

update ur ghpx card.. do u have bad gphx or good ones?

if good. its cuz of the LOD thingy.
if bad. update ur gphx and try replacin the skin with somethin elsE

It's by TF6, and it removes the lower LOD models and bitmaps, this WILL NOT, I repeat WILL NOT fix mip map problems, YOU NEED A FRESH TEXTURE.
