ok, im making a simple each level and i have two questions about it.......first i want to make water in the 3ds max for the beach....i did this by lowering my ground and adding a plane and named it and the material water$. can someone tell me if im right and if not tell me how to do it...thansk...and second when I run radiosty_start it slowes down and becomes really laggy and it shows 0.000 and all at the top but no ground was created and it didnt stop being laggy.. any help is good...thanks

As for the water, I don't remember cause I haven't created it in a while, but for sapien you need to type radiosity_save in the console after all of the values have reached 0.000.

no, the thing doesnt even go into radiosty counting down...it like freezes and then all the 0's come up and the level isnt built

that means its done... sometimes its rly fast. and if u dont do radiosity_save, then it seems laggy because it has the lightmap loaded but not saved yet.

and for the water plane, make sure it has !$ after the name, not just $. the ! makes it render-only, meaning that u cant walk on the surface.

ok, thanks for the help, but when in sapien my water looks like it has a gaping hole in it...il get a picture when im compileing
