I newbie question regarding Shared.map...

Ok, here it is, and I'm sure that I already know the answer to this, but I just want confirmation, thanks!

When you apply an new skinning texture to a vehicle like say a Ghost for example, like "Nemo" from "Atlantis", will that texture appear just on the "Atlantis" custom map, or every single map that has a Ghost in? Thanks...

Also, another quick question, if this is a problem that you are working on fixing, so that you will no longer ever need to patch the "Shared.map" again just to get complete vehicle customization on a new or original map, then roughly how long will this take?

As I do love these cool new graphical effects and animations etc on new maps, but it's annoying that they will appear on every other map of which can of course mess up already custom made maps with patches already applied to the Shared.map!

A good example was the first time I tried this on "Celdation" the brand new "Foundation" Mod, and I liked all the nice new effects, but then I went back to play an original map, and the effects were still the same which was disappointing...

Anyways, enough blabbering on, you get my drift hopefully, so is this already possible and a case of the less experienced modders haven't figured it out yet? Or is it not and never will be possible to do this!

I bet "Nemo" will appear on every map now if I patch Shared.map! D'oh!!!

I think your talking about Halo 2, and if you are, this belongs in the Halo 2 Forum.
