I dont know, depends how long I'm interested in halo. Probably not 3 years, but maybe a year or two, who knows maybe 3 years. I just don't wanna spend $200 on a video card.Katarn wrote:do you want this card for 3 years or 3 months?

100 would be wasting your money. 200 will be alive for 3 years. I bought my radeon 9800 pro 2 years ago. It was $200. It is still $200. And it is still amazing. I play halo at 1280x1024 all settings maxed at 40-60 fps.Waverunner wrote:True. Ill be looking for a vieo card then. But I'm still not spening 200. Maybe 100. You guys have convinced me.

Lol, what a great example!jks wrote:Dont expect to go cheaply on stuff like this... its kind of like those cheap flip flops you can get... you pay $5 for a pair, then they fall apart after a day so you keep getting them... when you could get yourself a good pair for $20 and not have the hassle.
Well, there are lots of tips about buying graphics cards, making sure they are compatible, make sure the one you purchase wont be bugged up, as in if you buy a graphics card that just came on the market, there could be stuff wrong with it. Also make sure your power supply has enough watts to power it, i have 520 watts and that is enough to power everything easily. But if you go for the pci exp radeon x850 then you need more then that .. that graphics card is evil...
I would look for one off of the internet. I always order my parts because I can find them for so much cheapers. The best site so far that I know is www.TigerDirect.com
