ABANDONED Brute Force

I came up with an idea to make my high school, into a Halo CE map. I have modeled just the gym so far, but I made it all red white and blue, so you could see the walls, once in game, because I can't skin.

But, I need someone to tell me how to put the damn blitxkrieg to work right! I put it in the pluging forlder but it says error 201 or something!

For blitzkrieg - did you use the blitzkrieg that can with your halo CE HEK
download? That version only works for 3DS MAX 5 and below. If you have
version 6 7 or 3ds, get the blitzkreieg from the files forum.

My school has like... 600 acres... and the actual campus area is like... 200 acres... thats including sports fields tho... so NO WAY IM GONNA MODEL IT!!!!

I have another project around town I want to do soon, but I need some pics of the town to start work on the area. I don't really know what the exterior of the building looks like from above yet, because the school is like a big building block building. It's one story high and places, but then it gets higher further in. It's a really weird bulding. Yes I might do the exterior. But, only if it adds to gameplay, and I don't have to waste an extra 1000 poly's to do the houses and junk around the school.

Thw whole school is on it's OWN BLOCK for crying out loud! Well, the campus anyways. The most of it is field, and track. I just need to figure out where blue and red base's are to be placed. I have 3ds max 7, I thought that the plugin worked for version 7, because I heard somewhere that it did. Guess it doesn't...

Sorry for double post, but I'm feeling lazy...


UPDATE: the gym was WAY to small. I upped it bigger, and now it looks right. The map is to scale now, so far. I also added the indent at thw two waterfountains and made the actualy gym higher.

The school has 2 gyms, a couple tennis courts, a football/soccer field, surrounded by a race track, one the other side of the school, three baseball diamonds, and a middle field! Not to mention two parking lots, and it covers the entire block!


EDIT: Just so you know, this idea was NOT impired by the recent minnesota shootings. It has been a long term idea of mine, from a loooong tmie ago. And I do NOT, DOOOOO NOT promote school shootings.

What do you guys think of the subject? Do you think it is a good idea to map the school? I will not put any indentifying marks on the school. Post a comment or something about what you think of the idea.


BIG UPDATE:

I'm back and I have TONS of pics, both wireframe and polygonal. THe map is aproximately 290 poly's (yes, I'm that good) and I have added a doorway to an outside door, and worked on the bleachers a bit. I plan to make the bleachers jump/climbable soy you can climb up the bleachers to the loft above the weight room. The wieght room is next to the gym, between the two main doorways into the gym, from the inner part of the school. On top of that is the loft, which is accessable, from 3 ways:

1. A group of stairs coming up from the weight room.
2. A doorway coming from the upper floor, which is directly connected to it.
3. climbing the bleachers.

I have some questions to ask you guys though. I don't really want to make an underside of the bleachers. Because I think it would be to much work, because there are to many poly's and vertices in that area, which could bring about alot of mistakes I have to fix. We all know if bleachers are pulled out, (which they are in this map) they have a space you can crawl underneath. So, I will make a poll for everyone to use so I can see whether you people want it.

Also, there would be really no point, except for the board dividing the bleachers from an area (which is a alley between the bleachers, that is there for hiding in, and sneak attacking) and allowing anyone exceping into that alley, to crawl under the bleachers and out the other side. I would think it would be fairer to make a tunnel underneath the bleachers, but I'm stuck in nuetral, because of all the work that would have to be done.

Yeah, imageshack makes it hard to find previously uploaded images after you have closed the webpage. I keep screwing up editing these into pics. But anyway, I sent em an e-mail asking them to make it possible to start a gallery thingy, so I don't end up wasting space on their server, with duplicate and uselessly old images. Hopefully they will make it so.

UPDATE: I have added the loft in finally! I've been up since 1:11, and the loft is ready. I just wonder whether I should put the curtains that seperate the loft from the gym in there. Maybe you could be able to shoot through them? I just don't know how to make objects walk through able, or have no collision. I also added two more bleacher steps, and fixed the water fountains. Still no errors so far!

OOOOk. I have another big update! I added the loft, and th weight room. I also added the stairs going up to the loft. I put in the remote control diviver that hangs from the ceiling. It has 591 poly's 0 errors.

I need a good skinner for this. I can't skin, so I really need someone good to do it. There is lots of white buildingbrick (the walls are all made of the damn stuff) and the gym floor, bleachers, and some other junk have that annoying osb type wood. You know, the sawdust, just packed into a board? The gym floor has to be plasticcy, but with wood underneath, in long 1 inch wide light colored wood. I don't remember what the divider looks like though. There are a bunch of mats in the loft, and the stairs will be tricky.

I am going to need some people to make some weight training equipment. Just some big blocky things, that are low poly. They have to cover a large area. Skinner needs to be able to make mirrors for place on the weight room walls. Some exercise balls would be nice. I've seen those in the weight room. Low poly though guys. The whole school is cluttered with tile. All the major hallways have tiles on them. I don't even know how they tiled all of it. I also need scenery objects to put int he school, like desks, coat hangers, and trash cans. Little foot trash cans. Some long (about 5 foot long, by 3 feet in width) osb tables would be nice to. Those are also like the gym floor, Only not plasticy.

Desks must be VERY low poly, seeing as there is going to be a bunch in class rooms and stuff (they might be movable, like the crates in H2). The ones in the school look like a plastic chair, with two legs coming off the back, with a bar coming from the back of the chair, and one from the bottom of it, to a small 2 lenth, 1 width, desk, connected to the chair, by the bars, supported by two long legs. I will do some scenery objects, if you guys can't do all this. Some Dell pentium 4's would be nice to. Every class room has at least one for the eteacher to use.

No, I'm not going to make EVERY room in the school.

I think desks should act liek a vehicle. Moveable, and you can get in them. They don't do anything at all, but you can sit in them.

Ahahaha! That's hilarious! Kind of a hinderance to gameplay though...

I can't put a school bus in, because it's an indoor map. However, I do think it might be pretty cool to be driviing around inside the school in a hog lol! Maybe if I make the corridors wide enough. Maybe. Pie that's fricking hilarious.

I'm going to go off and think of some funny and weird eggs to put in the map... maybe in my l - word.

maybe one or two of all the desks are sittable.

Or perhaps for the bases, its a school bus crashed into the wall. You go in the school bus door and the flag is at the back seats. :wink:

Haw haw, that's an excellent idea for an egg! But I don't know how to animate, trigger, or tag anything. I got some errors on the map while compiling... it gave me a bunch of updated edge erorrs, and now i kep gettinh these errrors saying model file version is fuked or somrthin...

I really really REALLY wish there was a script or something that would allow you to find and select a given edge, poly, or vertex... Maybe one of you programmers could do that? PLEASE?

I can't fix these damn errors, cus I can't find em, and when
I fix em, i get the version error.

i was gonna make my school, it would have been perfect, but i couldnt get halo pc/ce because my graphics card this is awful so i just had to make a block duplication mod with spark edit for halo xbox

Hey guys, I can't get past the last step! I placed the map in the folder, an that's all that's in there, and go to the build cache and it won't work!

and I was using tool and a bunch of other program earlier, then suddenly it went back to the folder, and when I tried to open up tool, it said SORRY TOOL.EXE IS NOT A VALID WIN32 APPLICATION!! WTF?!

No, not now the guy, I'm not giving it away, but I have started work ont he second gym. I'm working on the entrance to the gals bathroom. I might model the inside of it, but thing is... I don't know what it looks like!

The reason for me just getting back to modelling the map now is, I've been known to start stuff, and never finish. Partly because, I get all worked up and model like crazy the first day on working on it, but after I have to go to bed or something, or leave, when I come back it seems all that less interesting, and get bored easily.

I've been working really hard in the past few hours. I finished up the gals locker room, and made the boy's locker room!

You wouldn't think that was alot to do, but boy was it!

And yes I did apologize to waverunner about my recent blowup.
