new connection

as some of you know, ive had dial up for a long time. finally though, i got high speed internet from sympatico at $34.95 a month. it connects me at 3MBps and it can dl at 2.5MBps and upload at 800kbps. just wondering, do i have a good enough connection to host a server that isnt too laggy for 16 people(full server) to join?

i have a sympatico conection to but mine is 100mbps and i can olny host 6

that simply cant be, why do i always see tones of servers that are non dedicated even that host like 12 people, laggless, no lag at all and they claim they dont even have a T-1. if u connected at 100mbps and u can only host 6 id talk to my service provider about that. u should be able to host 32 with that connection. u can host 16 with a T-1 which isnt even as fast as what i have. someone elses opinion please.

guys i appreciate u trying to answer my question, but im gonna ask that someone that can host 16 people at a time, please post what ur connection is. if u can host 16 on 1mb ill now that i can easily host 16

I can with Broadband, so anything else above it....T1+ would work.

thanx guys! im setting up the server now! its gonna be loads of fun with 16. all weapons with both hog variants in bloodgulch. capture the flag and 5 points to win. server name is "test ur skills against 16, come in"

100mps isn't your connection, www.dslreports.com that will tell you your connection.

Exactly, my comp is 384 kb/s but the connection thingy shows 100mb/s. So 100MB/s can't be your connection.

guys, just to let u know, my server is running almost all the time since i got unlimited access, im not always there but its running so u can join anytime u want. its a blast! so many people and im always in first place(ya i know its my server but people say there isnt much lag). incase u guys are wondering its for PC
