hey i was searching around on the internet and couldnt find anything definate on this question. i want to know if 3dsmax7 is capable of handling a 2 processor motherboard. it would make sense if it did, considering the render time for some professional projects, but i dont know for sure.
oh and another question.. just cuz.. whats an awesome video card? yesterday i found a 3 year old stash of money that topped off my computer-upgrade savings.
Having dual processors is good for rendering times and loading times on max, what max does when it is rendering, if you notice of maybe a mental ray render or vray or brazil, what it does is render a small square at a time, with a dual cpu motherboard which is what I have, it will render two squares at a time. I know someone with a quad cpu motherboard...
If your computer supports it you could get a pci express card, but if you dont then i would reccomend a non pci express ati radeon x800. GeForce 6800 is also very good, it runs doom 3 very nicely.
Good idea, my dad's server I aint allowed to go anywhere near though, it has 12 motherboards all with dual processor, and each cpu is 1.8ghz... he loves it more then he loves me..

Nice, but material goods are less important than people...
lol... so true jks.. but if his dads server had 3.6GHz processors... then idk. hard decision.
jk.
