So what method of extraction does the halo 2 ce team use.

What program do they use to extract models, etc.?

they don't extract anything. they model it by their skills and patience in 3dsMAX

Yes, the Halo 2 CE team advertised at Bungie's developed the entire mod from scratch. The announcer voices were taken from Bungie, but instead of ripping, they got it directly from them with permission.

Coag and stuff use ripped models, but it seems custom ones are a bit more fun...
