I cant get my map to open in sapein so i just tried exporting it and putting in the starting locations manualy but.............
then it says in tool "EXCEPTION halt in \halo\pc\haloce\tag_files\tag_groups.c,#3157: #0 is not
a valid structure_bsp_material_block index in [#0,#0>
what do i do
i have spent hours on this map[/b]

From the looks of this, it looks like you have some material problems, check over the material names in 3ds (or gmax), and make sure you made all of the shader tags and bitmap tags, and that they have the SAME name as the appropriate material name in max.
My guess is that you have a material applied to one of your objects names material #0. If you are using the default CE tutorial, don't, it is crap!!! Use the vid tuts Here
