HEAR MY PLEA

Post by Tanuki »

ok

i dont have 3dsmax, so i am using 3dsmax and i want to make some custom weapons. I need a file to import the .gbxmodel of the original weapon model in to gmax. i need a script that can do that!

I MUST HAVE IT.

and please, if you have something, send it to me at [email protected]

HA! You already have the script! Just make your model, then go to file, export, and let the window load. Now select the ".obj" (with out the "'s of course) and click export (or save, I can't remember what it says). NOw do some thing a mijicky and you can import it as a gun. As some people, I have never modeled a gun and put it ingame, even though I do know how to export it from 3ds max.

Ha ha, maybe someday we will have "4ds max" or "6ds max". lmfao.

That right there made me not understand any of your question...

By the way, exporting in OBJ works and everything but i personally hate it. Last resort export. Makes the thingy SO small, and flips some faces.

I suggest exporting in .3ds format. Most modeling programs contain that exporter. If it doesn't have it, then i would suggest looking for it. It is importable within all the 3ds max versions. (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, etc)

Put it in the plugins folder, then you can export and/or import that new file, or if it is a .ms (max script) go to utilities and run the script.

the .dll's go into the folder that the instructions tell them to go.

DIRECTLY FROM README:
readme wrote:// Scott Velasquez a.k.a. vatoloco
// 05/12/2004
// Gearbox Software
// 3DSMAX6 Halo exporter

1. Verify you have the 4 .dlls in this folder in your system directory. If not, copy the 4 dlls (not the .dle) in this directory into your Windows system directory.
WindowsNT - winnt\system32
Windows9x - windows\system
Windows2k - winnt\system32
WindowsXP - windows\system32

2. If you copied the 4 dlls into your system folder, you'll need to reboot before you can run MAX6 with the Bliztkrieg plug-in.

Lol, your shiatting me...that's the funniest crap I have ever heard.

3ds Max has about 100x more things than Gmax, and is the same thing with the same layout.

3ds Max has so many modifiers and animation stuff, Gmax doesn't.

---------

You have to get the Blitzkreig Max 6 plugin. It works for Max 6 and 7.

Well, weighing up the fact that gmax is free, that makes it pretty good, but max is alot better with the rendering, the extra features, reactor and so on.
