I then attach the "base_02" copy and delete the faces under the base and go into polygon mode and create the polygons to attach the outer region of the base to the maps surface. Repeating the steps taken on the first base I then detach "base_02" and link the skybox, base_01, base_02 to the frame and save it to my C:Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\data\levels\project name\models directory as a .max file


Then I export the same file to the same folder as a .JMS and MAX crashes everytime.
I only used 2 materials for the construction of the map and both were assigned as Multi\Sub Object. The HEK tutorial has a crash scenario problems\solutions section but it isn't much help.
My bases have "0" open edges except for the base of the structure that I was instructed to delete after detaching the first base, and the skybox itself has "0" open edges except for the region directly under the base.

What am I doing wrong?
