to do grunts and elites you need to rebuild the map(only if you want to do an mp level) to spawn a hog by shooting:
go to projectiles in hmt and swap the meta, for example a pistol bullet with a warthog.

I don't know how to make them automatticaly respawn...The closest thing i think of to that is keep spwning them with the gun...sry
