well, if you were expecting to find some half-finished awesome model that you could take the credit for, turn back.
if you truly have worked with nurbs and seen renders of nurbs objects, you will know how high-quality they are
hopefully in a few years there will be game engines and pcs that can handle using splines in games, instead of models that need to have a low face count, and thus look crappy.
if anyone here is reading this, please work on a all-spline first-person-shooter. if it has gameplay and a story as good as halo's it will make you rich...
but that's just me dreaming...
just wanna hand out a dream of mine....

That makes not much sense at all.. Most low polygon models are made with spline.. Basically all you shoulda said is: "I want meh a mega high polygon game!!! >.< "
You dont think every game company wants to do this? The radeon x800 + could handle alot in game, if everyone had one of those, you could do it, but most people have like radeon 9000... And even with an x800 you would have a limitation of around 70-100 thousand polygons a scene, those lovely amazing wicked cool polygons you see that have taken like 6 hours to render are more about... 1 million? Some can be alot less.
Game engines are using things like normal mapping, to make it look like polygon detail when really it is a flat surface, you can make it look like an extra million polygons with a normal map.

Your looking for an engine that can handle high detail environments, well alot of engines would do it, but the hardware is the limitation, the closes you will get for now is the unreal3 engine thats in production, but a few months ago the devs couldnt get it to top 20fps on 6800s, so you'll have to wait for better hardware,
the unreal3 engine makes use of advanced normalmapping and parralax mapping, which will look amazing. the current technical demonstrations are also amazing, although i suspect the final game will be cut down graphics wise.
