Yeah, it's free and it has got unlimited time to use (no 30 day trial junk), it's called Gmax. I used to use it, I LOVED it. But 3ds max is made by Discreet, and gmax is made by discreet, they are basically the same program (they are set up like each other and have nearly the same functions) but just with missing features. Like, gmax has no chamfer function, but 3ds max does, and 3ds has TONS of features that gmax doesnt.

Hope it helps, :D.

On a side note, I don't know if you can import guns into halo with gmax, you might have to look for an exporter, I am sure there's one. I've found tons on my own with yaho search.

No, gmax can't render, but it can make "holes" in models. Just use boolean. Go to "compound objects" under a rollout on your side toolbar, go select boolean, and then click "operand b", then click the thing you want to boolean. It screws up alot, and you might need to change some settings to get it to work right.

And guys, yes I mean you all you halomods members, you NEED to check back at posts like this, even if it says the same person posted. It usually leads to a question not being answered and people spamming the board with additional topics amnd geting flamed because YUO ASSHOLES WERE TO STUPID TO CHECK BACK. I have been a victim of that and that is why I checked back here :D. Usually people won;t reply back to this after they read your post once.
