W.I.P Last Stand W.I.P (Doing Great!)PICS!!
yes i do plan on a road, but i haven't exaclty figured out the way i want it to go quite yet. but, soon as that is done and decided, there will be an update on it, you can count on it.

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D

lol he's not quitting completly Just not full time anymore i dont blame em lol, But he's still on the team, because he's the only one who can help us with HEK besides myself but there's so much I cant do the whole compiling part by myself, because there's so many tags to make so I figured we'd split it.
Thanks,

Can I make a sudgestion for when you do the road? Good, I would sudgest you make the road an entirely different mesh, what you should do is model some straight areas in the road, then model like a 4 way junction, T junction, whatever, then do some corners, then when you have all of those, texture map them all, and when you have done that, place them and weld all of the verts when you place them. That is how I did it for an animation I had to do when I was getting trained.
You guys know that an autocad training lasts only 3 days, wheras a max training half course lasts about 2 - 6 months, weird. (my electronics teacher took a course in it and told us, he has a beard)

yeh, autocad is a very simple program, very easy to use. max is just a whole different level, with different capabilities. but i'm sure you knew that. i really don't favor it's text commands...reminds me of dos
. anyways, yeh, i was thinking of making it a different mesh, or, what i could do is connect lines and move poly's, but yeh that's pinner. i'm going to have to make it a different mesh and use the good ol' attach function. lol. any other ideas you have, sonictag, please suggest.

What I think is that, instead of the standard roads we have today, it should be like.. Lemme make an example of what it should be..
What i sudgest is that you make lots of seperate parts, then you stick them together like I do on my thomas the tank engine train set. You know what im talkin about, weld them together. I would make it a seperate mesh once you have attached all of the road together, so the road is seperate from the ground
I think this will save you alot of time, but trust me, plan what the road well, like in paint or somthing, or it might come out bad, so basically just draw where it all goes.

nice job. for the lines did you just extrude and move the lines? or did you apply a modifier? because bend modifier isn't liking me, and i'm not liking it. i did happen to make an intersection, however.

Nice, I dont use bend modifier for the curves, I Extrude and rotate + move a little and keep doing that, for the map try to make... 5 extrusions for a corner at least, but dont go over 8. I used 5, and it looks not bad. Bend modifer quite likes me I think anyway, I use it occasionaly.(for cartoon character hair and for modeling car tyers.
W00t! The map look sweeeeet! Nice job! Don't stop! You are on fire, lol. Here is few feedbacks for you... The map does look empty. The last stand don't look so great, maybe making it bigger and moving from that left corner to right corner near the grid. The highway that goes down, there are 2 jumping vert, right? Why not changing that into a huge building where you can go down thru the building, there are dead end so you have to get off and go left into "red" base for ctf. The highway is split in 2? Put em together and you know where the last stand is? Put the blue base so when you get up the highway, you go left. Just a thought. And btw I'm new, why is polygon count important?

Lol, sounds like someone had pulled an overnight shift and working his ass off hard with the maps. Cuz you surely look foward to release a small bit of information tomorrow, although you could do that now, you just want to put the extra efforts in it and make sure everything look sweeeeet! Am I right?!

Ok Maybe you people dont understand Snaf is the mapper for 00 Team, he's not stand alone, We dont update much because it's just me and Falcon(cooldude) left. We have to do all the compiling and Weapons and vehicles modeling we're doing great it's such a relief, we've got alll the weapons done and skinned. Now for vehicles. I'll Update once Falcon gets his lazy milkshake drinkin butt online lol, because he's got the models, that he made I tag, Well I made the battle Rifle ofcourse lol. Anyways We should have some ingame pics for you all in a bit, oh Btw I'm the team leader for your information so any suggestions and stuff contact me, or snaf but, he's got a handful of work on his own all he needs is more, ya so just contact me for ideas and stuff. VVVClick my AIM button lol!

yah this is an assload of work i got here lol. but i think i'm only steps away from finishing the bsp. so that should be done by the end of this week. i'll have to look at where i can tidy up the poly count. but for the most part i kept it low poly models. everything is looking good. there are a few buildings that are now non-accessible (as they don't need to be), and one that is quite the vantage point, as you can see the ENTIRE map from this one location. so without further stalling, here is the update:

Man, this is awesome. I just wish Halo 2 never came out. No one ever plays Halo CE anymore. The most players I saw on one server yesterday were 5, and there were absolutely no ded servers.
Say, how do you make those renders look so model like? How do you give them shadows, and what color is that, that you use?

Good bye. So long. I hope we never meet again. F u halomods.com
This is how you make it look "model like"
-Change the model colour to white
-place a white plane underneath it
- go to the Lights, under objects
-Change Standard to Photometric
-Click on IES sky, make part cloudy and tick cast shadows
-Place the IES sky pointing at your model
-Press number 8
-on exposure control, change <No exposure control> to Automatic Exposure control
-Press F10
-Click the Advanced Lighting tab
-Change <No light plugin> to Light Tracer
-Press F9 and it renders. (can take a long time)
