Animating Vertexs

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

You can animate vertexes, but that isnt how you would do it, you would place a bone, or an object, and then envelope the vertexes to it, so that the vertexes will move with the bone.

For that you would use a bump map shader animation. But if you were going to do it the way you want to, you would do displacement animations, displace and morph.

How do you get a model to move with a skeleton? I have an mc model, and a skeleton for it, but they still move seperately... any help?

Use the skin modifier, see what happens. Mess around with the envelopes, scale them in most cases, so that they select more of the mesh.

huhwuh, im not that good at modeling/skinning/pistoling/sniping/playing halo/having a life/scholl(but who cares)/ and a few other things

so when you said...
bump map shader animation
and also when you said
displacement animations
and this too
displace and morph
and especially this one
everything you just said makes absolutely no sense to me, so if you would be so kind as to restate that in a way that a total noob would understand it would be great
