getting closer.... im just finishing up the scenery for the level. i did an experiment to see if i could make the c_storage things fall over when hit by something. i ended up with something that when spawned, automatically leans on its side and always tried to return to that position. basically the physics were really screwed up. oh well not that important. but anyways heres some pics of the progress
those pics are from radiosity_quality 0 and i usually run a quality 1 before i release it. i have recently been given an opportunity to get some help on this map, in the way of getting some of the ai in and such. so hopefully that will turn out well.
about the gameplay... im thinking of having multiple versions of the map. the basic idea is that its a giant ctf arena. the team that starts in the control room should be on defense. that would be like the ai. it will probably be just like a mp map, but with ai. so you can have friends join you in the fight against the covenant. im not sure if i can do this, but i will only have 1 type of spawn point, so everyone is on the same team. another version might be made for mp w/o the ai. another might be with harder ai, since the gameplay is different from the desertplat map. another question is how to handle the ai respawning. it would kinda suck to have to battle an endless supply of enemies, but you dont wanna kill them all off, then go for the flag numerous times unhindered. maybe set the respawn time to be really long? idk yet. but some feedback would be greatly appreciated.
oh yea and i added snow... and portalled it. well kinda. heh.
