too skinny, clip is utter and total shit, too many polygons used on top of slide. I personally don't like the huge halo-ish trigger guard, but it's all good. lacks detail. Barrel is using (i'm guessing) at least 16 sides, which isn't a good thing. I can see the seem down the middle, suggesting that you haven't symmetrized it correctly, other than that, it's good for a first try at plane modeling.

Harsh... glad your back though,Katarn wrote:too skinny, clip is utter and total ****, too many polygons used on top of slide. yes, too skinny, i'll be fixing that, clip was just a box, was using it for refference, and if you are reffering to the length of the clip, i gave it a custom glock tactical look. the slide can easily be redone, so chill a bit on that. the barrel is only 10 sides, smoothed. i applied a symmetry modifier to the gun, but meh i did it real quick to see what it was like. it's not anything finalized. i don't want too much detail. detail costs polys. polys make lag. lag is bad. overall, i think you assumed too much, but thank you for the final compliment in the end.Katarn wrote:too skinny, clip is utter and total ****, too many polygons used on top of slide. after optimizing it's still under 500 polys. when insetting vertices, i used too many. when i put back on the old slide, i can probably get it under 450. not bad i think. plane modeling costs more poly's than line and extrude, but it does look better, and i'm glad i switched over.
you have any suggestions for modeling the slide? i knew sooner or later you'd show up in my topic. lol.l

Dude. No. Do you even know who Katarn and Snaf are? They are some of the few 1337est modelers that have ever set foot in CE. =D
