it just wont work

i havent played haloCE for a long time, but now that halo 2 came out i figured that there would be some halo 2 maps for CE, and there are. but now, whenever i run haloCE the screen flashes black, then i get a gathering exception data message. i can't think of anything that would cause this, it was working just fine last time i played it. i have reinstalled it several times but i still get the same thing.

please help

Oops sorry didnt see you put that. hmmm well could be a problem with your computer, Do you have DirectX 9.0c?

2 questions... are you running dev mode? if yes have you ever run a dedicated server?

yes, i have DirectX 9.0c. dev mode, dedicated mode or just mormal, it still crashes when i try to start it.

look in your halo CE folder and delete a file called init.txt

then try to play and tell us what happens

try running non-dev mode

I don't have the init.txt file in my Halo CE Root directory, init.text is only used for Dedicated Servers, you dont need it.

All I could say uninstall Halo CE completely and then install.

i don't know why i never tryed this before but it just ran it in safe mode, it works, but it looks like shit. don't know if this information helps, but it is worth a try
