its a disgrace to anyone who lays eyes on it. my reason: you can't smooth for shit. otherwise, its mediocre, originality: low, model: ok
I'm sure you could do much better, i can see you have talent, but it's misplaced
don't flame me for being honest

Well it wasn't meant to be original. It needs a lot of texture work though.
"A disgrace to anyone who lays eyes on it" is just absurd. You do know that the majority of Halo players if they saw it would say "omg thats sweet awesome!!!!11!!!1". Your standards are just too high, Katarn.

my standards come from the oh almighty oldfaq, dispraiser, bullet_head, Nightsh4de, Urban Terror, Blood_shot, Pookguy, and a lot of others, i can't be too far off.
I'm sorry, but the large dark shadows in BOXY places suggests he doesn't know how to smooth, or he just doesn't know what it is, or he just can't. Smoothing is one of the most important elements, if you can't do it, learn. Dark shadows burn holes in my eyes, think of it as a grease stain on your monitor.
The modeling is very unoptimized, i could have half the polies with the same secks. The sights are too boxy. i see smoothing where it isn't needed. Misplaced vertices among the model. backfaces and overlapping faces galore, very sloppy. at the moment he's missing a trigger, ejection port, and clip. Did i mention grease stains?
The skin and bump mapping are secks.

I know the gun wasn't original, but he could put something thats original on it.

It's pretty much nothing you could notice in game. That's the problem I see with the modelers you mentioned, they model the guns like they're just gonna render it and throw it away. In fact, I've only seen a couple out of the tons of models they make actually put in game.

But I would suggest fixing above the trigger guard and the middle-back of the stock. That will show up on the pickup and on the hands a little.

Nice, but renders tend to make everything look better than it is.

That is a very bad way to model a car (and you got some sucky smoothing groups). Also you have very bad topology on the door of both of them. Also that is not proof that you modelled them. Im not saying that you diddnt.

And (assuming you did model these) try to finish one before starting another one lol.
