Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

You need gmax from http://www4.discreet.com/gmax/ (you have to register aswell)

It is a good idea to have paintshop pro or photoshop, kirks tutorial uses paintshop pro. Fill http://www.jasc.com/en/products/paintsh ... ialreg.asp in for the trial version of Paint Shop Pro 9.

Then you need to follow Kirks tutorials which will give you all the information you need.

The tutorials can be found here

Try not to give up like the millions of people who have  . It can take some time to learn how to do it all.

Kirk is using 3ds max, in his first tutorials which i have seen, he uses no tools which are not available in gmax, so you can follow those tutorials.

Im not sure about the more advanced tutorials by him, but there is always a way round it. The mosy likely tool he will have used that is not available in gmax is axis scaling (scaling only to the axis of your choice, gmax can only scale to scale X, Y and Z at the same time, basically changing the models scale ratio).
