Realistic modern weapon mod

Hey everyone! I'm new here as you probalby noticed but anyway I was wondering if anyone wanted to do a simple mod with me. I just want to replace all the weapons with modern day ones, and maybe some custom player model/skins like counter-terrorist styler or whatever. Anyway I have some ideas of what we could replace the weapons with or maybe we can make multiple versions, or maybe, just maybe, we could make it customizable in some way?

Shotgun - Spas 12 or Super 90
Pistol - USP or Glock or maybe P228
Rifle - M4 or Ak
Rocket Launcher - Stinger of course
Sniper - AWP or Barrett

and we can replace the alien weapons too if that's possible

So anyway here's what I'm lookin for:

Members that are -
-Not necessarily completely dedicated and realize life is more important
-People with experience skinning/coding/sound
-Maybe another modeler but I have that pretty much covered right now

Anyone who is interested go ahead and reply, or if there is already a similar mod i would be happy to join up as a modeler!


Ok I know i'm hard to follow sometimes so ima do a recap:

Lookin for Skinners, coders and sound artists - oh and a character modeler perhaps? for a modern day weapons mod.

just because you have 56k doesnt mean you can't help. Thinking realisticially, i can do the coding and sound if someone can just do the skins but it would be nice to have a coder seeing as ive never done this before.

maybe these will get you guys motivated...

Seems like this should go in CE then. Those models don't stand a chance of getting in to PC.

yea i was thinkin CE cuz of the ease of importing i just need som1 to skin them!

well, iw as going to offer my services as a modeller (i can actually do guns!) except you model 10x better than me so, you dont need a new modeler.

not if you want rounded-edges and good-looking/realistic parts I like guns and vehicles cause they tend to be angular and very, very symetrical.

Wow you would need some really good skinning skills to skin those. [for a beta you should just slap on some skins from Halo just to see how the animations work]

thanks for the compliments on the models, however i think the g36 (the first one) is the only one low-poly enough to go ingame.[Edit: actually the oc-14 is ingame ready and optimized, i forgot about that] I suppose I could do a beta of the weapons with some kind of easy skin on them...

Edwin - do you think you could do a hmmwv? i think that would be a pretty cool replacement for the hog - let me know if you can

if anyone wants to help me code these in, i'll be very thankful, all i have atm is a video tutorial on how to do it

and also i need your guys' input on what weapons you want to see in the mod

without a doubt, may take a while, especially if i have a poly-limit to work with, but i can do it. HOWEVER i do not have 3DS Max, i have milkshape, i would need someone to convert the model for me. I have done 2 other vehicle models if you want to see some of my work:

models look good, i dont know if ther's a way for me to convert files using max so if not i don't know what to tell ya

thanks for the compliments.

and i can save the files in almost any format with MS, .obj, .lwo, .dxf, .inc, .wrl, .asc, raw data, almost anything. MS3D was designed for making models for games, therefore it can export to almost ANY game-model format, .md3, .md2, half-life model files, unreal, serious sam, max-payne, the sims, genesis 3d, etc.

i believe that 3DS can import .obj files and raw data can't it?

It can do .obj files, not so sure about raw data though.
