Why don't you just call the company you bought the computer from and ask how to turn it on/off?
That, or, most power switches look like this..press the middle of these switches and it will turn on.....
It normally looks like this-

\ | /

or like this:

____________

------------------
____________

A computer staying on that long without turning off would make it fry, and it's impossible anyways because there must have been some type of power surge.

No offence, but are you people THAT stupid?

One....how can you not know what a button is? Even if you were joking....that's just sad. Two...generally there's a large button on the front of your computer terminal. Next to it there'll be a circle with a line going through the top. That's the on button. Press it and behold the magic of on buttons.

The grandmother of halohacking can't even turn on/off his computer? Personally, I think that's downright sad. Having a computer for 14 years and not being able to turn it on. I could turn on a computer when I was 3 years old. Sheesh. But I havn't seen any of N-'s work, so....

You'll need a screwdriver, some solder and a soldering iron, a crowbar, and a car battery.

First, pry off the side of your case with the crowbar. There might be screws holding it on, but real hardcore hax0rz don't use a side pannel anyway. Just try harder. After you ditch the 'lame-azz' side pannel, you'll now be able to see the contents of your computer box. Up near the top there will be a box mounted to the case, this is your power supply. On the far side of the case there will be a large computer board that keeps all the computer's components together, this is your motherboard. Now that we have the terminology down, we can begin. First, on the power source there is a little red switch that changes the unit's voltage input levels because of different standards in the US and Europe. You can use the screwdriver to change it from its factory setting, the extra input power will make your pc 'uber-l33t' and perform much better. Now, solder some wire to the leads of the car battery, if you accidentaly punch a hole in it all you need to do is flush your hands with water. It's a common misconseption that a car battery is dangerous when broken, when really it's as harmless as drenching your hands in motor oil. Now, find a 4-pin connector that leads from your pimped-out power box to the motherboard. Disconnect it, you don't need it with your new 'uber-l33t' battery starter. Solder one wire from the battery to the connector on the motherboard. Strike the other end against it and Viola! Your system will start up like it's never started up before, and on a dirt cheap budget too.

[sarcasm]

look for a button like this.

Actually, no. I live in Antarctica because I've overclocked my P4 2.4C to 5GHz so I really need the cooling. As far as calling the company that built my computer, well, I built my computer and every time I call myself the line is busy, so...

Also, your pictographs suck, the Egyptians would be disappointed in you.

You thought, even for a second, that I was joking? Who the hell are you to laugh at my lack of computer knowledge? WHO!? Honestly, didn't your mother ever teach you to respect others and not make fun of the technologically challenged? If not I think you need a new computer.

Well, I think I've found my problem. My computer is flat in front, all flat. It has a door and that door is locked. I tried all the passwords I could think of: Open Sesame, Alakazam, Sheboinki, I've Got Cookies. None of them will let me in. In desperation I filled the hole in front with glue and tried to pull the door open with it - to my distaste the glue broke and is now jammed in the odd looking, thin shaped hole.

Please, don't make fun of my short comings, it just isn't right.
