INDICES??

Finish a new model/mesh? Got something you're working on? Finish a new map? Here's the place to post it for feedback and whatnot.

Post by BaronvonTito790 »

What are Indices? Im Trying to import a new Banshe model intio HPC, But i get this error saying "Can't inject Model. Too many vertices or indices than old model" I know i have to much of something, But of what, and once again, What are Indices?!? :?:

If I'm thinking correctly, they're the vertices that make up the models. Every surface is streched to edges, and these edges are attached to vertices. Thats how the model is made, really. So, what I think HMT is saying is that your model has more vertices than the old model, so it won't accept it.

that and indices are the areas of an object... the vertices control where the model is strecthed to while indices keep the model formable

I don't think ppsimakesmehigh meant the edges...

A Mod2 / Mod tag has whats known as "Raw Pointers". These pointers point to offsets in the Raw Model Data area of the map. There are pointers to the vertices (x, y, z, etc) and the indices (how the vertices connect)
From the stickey in the HMT forum.

makes sence to me that indicies are the edges because of that.
