I'd advise you to take the wood home and do it. Building a weapon (no matter how unreal it looks) in school is probably the last thing you should do.

i built throwing stars and a knife in metal shop...he cut the metal ends (to dull it down) and then threw them away...and sent me to the princples office...a week later i was in woodshop and accidently sanded my finger nails off on one hand...i felt really stupid then (i as building my name out of wood).

Triggerhappy;
i could not find you any wireframe blueprints, so i made u a tutorial on how to do it for VERY cheap, but it doesnt involve wood..., maybe i could get you a parts list, and you could use them for models for the pieces?

i can see how that would be a bad idea to do it at school... they are friggin paranoid there ever since the columbine incident.
BUT! i have ideas that you could make that out of household items. i'll post the tutorial as soon as i try it myself... maybe even now...

ok, why not. :P

You would need:
-two 3 to 3.5 inch wide pieces of, say, 3.5 foot long PVC piping
-i don't know if they make this  , but maybe a bit of 6 to 7 inch pvc pipe,or wide enough to fit two 3 inch wide pieces of pvc through snugly, about say... one foot of the stuff... if they don't make this stuff, then use:
-one gallon plastic milk carton or something square about that size, and maybe a little bigger, kinda rounded on the corners ( we will reinforce the carton to be stronger than it is orginally, if anyone has any more ideas on how to do this without altering the appearance and shape much, let me know...)
-one piece end cap to the 6-7inch wide pvc, 3 inches long.
-(This might seem rediculous, and if anyone has any other ideas, tell me...) the handle and the pumping handle off of old super soakers. do not worry about color. it will be painted later. CUT THEM OFF NEATLY WITH A HACKSAW OR UTILITY KNIFE DO NOT BREAK THEM OFF! do these items LAST! you will need to form them to your launcher so that they are not just hanging by glue!
-like, 5 tubes of epoxy glue, if not even more. I say again: a LOT of it. you may substitute this for PVC glue on some parts, or even a large amount of model glue. but for me, epoxy works best on almost any non-plumbing pvc project.
-cardboard or maybe some light plastic sheeting, for capping the ends of the middle and end sections.
-a small piece of the metal that they use to tie boards together with, about 1 foot of it, maybe a little more...
- tin snips or metal cutter
-pliers
- 2 pieces of small pvc pipe, one 3/4 inch, one 1 inch wide, both about 2 feet long
-hacksaw
-utility knife
-one can dull rust red color spray paint (can be model paint)
-one can grey/dull gun metal spray paint (can be model paint)
-milk carton (yes, well DUH it's empty...) ( this will be for modelling and shaping of details.)
anything else that i forgot may be in the instructions. pictures will be posted later on photobucket. i will say when they are.

INSTRUCTIONS

- First, take your 2 pieces of 3inch wide PVC and your 6-7 inch wide(the foot long one) make a mark 20 inches down and 32 inches down from one end of both pipes. line these up. with each other, making the pipes sit even with each other.

-set up a stabilizing system so that the tubes will not roll, it could be as simple as 2 four by fours, i dont care, as long as those tubes do not roll.

-you know those 2 marks you drew on the pipes? well, take your epoxy or model or PVC glue and glob it in between these lines, all the while making sure that (A) the pipes are squashed together, and (B) you dont let the pipes roll, and (C) that you only put the glue in between the lines unless you want your launcher to look like it was jerry-rigged.

-now, get your 7 inch wide tube thing. trace it on your cardboard or plastic sheeting, making sure to not let the circles overlap. Do this 4 times total .

-after the glue has dried, take your new double barrely look ing thing and trace it on your plastic sheeting or cardboard inside the 7 inch circles. after you have done it the first time, do it on the other 3 circles, making sure they are centered inside the circles.

- now that that is done, take your doubly barrel thing and shove it down the 7 inch wide, 1 foot tube , and make the bigger tube line up with the epoxy guidelines you drew. glue it there by taking the epoxy and gluing the inside of the tube, making sure not to get any outside of the tube. steady the tube and put it somewhere wher it will not be disturbed.

- While waiting for the glue to dry, cut out the plasic sheeting/cardboard pieces you drew so that they are 2 circles with a binocular view thing in the middle.

-When the glue has dried, you can take it and the pieces you cut out,
and put 2 of them on. slide one down the front end, and one more down the back end, and glue them using hot glue or epoxy again. (hot glue is better for this.)

-now once you have done this, take your second 7 inch wide, 3 inch long piece and the last 2 cardboard/plastic sheeting disc things. Slide the disc on first, and then jam and glue on the 7 inch piece, makeing sure to leave at least an inch and a half on the very end exposed.

- when waiting for the glue to dry, carefully measure the space between the two bigger pipes on the rocket launcher in progress.

- cut a piece of the smaller, 3/4 inch wide pvc pipe to match that length.

-wait for glue to completely dry.

-after glue has all dried, put the piece you measured in between the bottom edge of the rocket launcher in between the 7 inch sections, and glue it there. then, wait for the glue to dry. MAKE SURE THAT THE BARRELS ARE AT A 90 DERGREE ANGLE TO THE FLOOR, STACKED ON TOP OF EACH OTHER! IT WILL LOOK FUNNY IF YOU SCREW THIS UP!

-after THAT glue has dried, flip the launcher over so that the barrel is pointing to your right, with the handle facing down if it isnt already.

-Take your milk carton, and cut the end off so it looks like a milk carton without the last 3 or 4 inches off the top. IT HAS TO HAVE AT LEAST 10 INCHES OF FLAT AREA ON IT.

-Cut the carton without the top 3 inches down one of the corners, so that it opens up flat on the ground like a rug.( you will also have to slit the other end of the carton so that it does this. so cut it out, and save it.

-Now if the carton will not stay flat no matter how hard you stomp on it , heres a use for you encyclopedia set from your grandfather, and your mom's new hairdryer.
Take the carton and heat it up with the hairdryer, then put the encyclopedia on top on a hard surface quickly, and allow to cool for a minute. repeat until flat.

- re fold the carton thing into somewhat of half a rectangle. fold it so that is has 3 or so inches on both "flaps" and is 7 inches tall in between.
like this:
__
|
|
|__

Hot glue that to the middle section of the launcher, making sure that you glue it onto the RIGHT SIDE of the launcher, so that it looks like a half circle, half square thing.
kinda like this, but on the other side:
_____
| / \
| | |
|__\__/

(sorta)

now cut the last of the milk carton so it can cap the ends of the gap between pipe and carton thing. Glue them there.

Now, cut the last piece of PVC to go on the side that is round. glue it about a quarter of the way up the round part of the left side of the launcher.

after that, you are almost finished.

-take your super soakers and cut off the handles so that they will neatly glue to the bottom of the launcher. for the plunger handle, get the one last piece of thin, 1/2 inch pvc. cut it to be about 1.5 to 2 feet long, and glue it on the plunger handle, so that they look kinda like this:

now, put the piece newly made, and put it on the bottom edge of the gun, in front. If you are confused , see a pic of the rocket launcher, just search "halo rocket launcher" on halo.

Then glue the handles in the appropriate places and paint. (see the pix for details of the painting.)

a "do-it-yourself" halo rocket launcher at home, dude that is sweet. only problem is, i dont have access to pvc pipe. and i only wanted to do it at school cuz it was just a matter of having extra time to do it. it was just a "if i have time and its conveinient" thing. maybe when i finish my stuff early, and hes helping other people, i can make a little mini one maybe about 3 in. big

that would be neat...
but, u can get almost ANY size PVC at ur local harware store or Home depot. And it is relatively cheap if you have a job. if you dont have one, u can go to a scrapyard, or a junkyard, and get even BETTER pieces.

oh, well, thats besides the point. i cant drive and i dont have money. ive already started my rl in woodshop. see, its gonna be small like itll fit in your palm, and he wont give me any cylinders so i took a stick with square edges and cut it into four pieces for the tubes.. then i sanded it down into a cylinder, took forever. and that took all day. i was walking into my other classes still sanding. then i have to do the box part and then the handles. only problem is is that little bar that the mc holds with his left hand, the little bar with the end handle under the tubes. in proportions, that would have to be tiny. ill probably use a straightened paperclip and cut it down.

you just have to go to your school's attendance office and ask for a work permit form. then you go and when someone offers you a job, they fill it out, and u fill it out, and u have ur parents sign it. then you turn it back in and they give you a certificate that says you can work.

btw, sounds cool. post a pic on photobucket or somewhere once u get the thing done. cant wait to see it.
