voxmsdec.cab ?

Post by Le_Loup »

Ok, i'm trying to integrate a song, an mp3 that I converted to a specific WAV FORMAT in goldwave, but, the prob is, that I can't quite figure out how to inject, or edit the right file when I extract a batch or something of all the meta data, and the sound data from halo map tools, of bloodgulch.

It's been done in halo ce, and I wanted to try it for halo pc, it looks quite simple, but what am I missing? Any suggestions? (i'm using bg as a test map for the concept prior to actually any other map I really want to use it in). And, what codec should I have in goldwave? PLUS how do Put the codec in goldwave, or whatever, because i'm SO CONFUSED regarding it. The tutorial on the halomods.com tutorials section DID NOT HELP ME, but actually that tool.exe, I got that after installing HEK, and woop de do, I double click tool, expecting the "dos window" will stay, instead of dang well "OPENING AND CLOSING" faster then u can say SHIT (no offence, but hell, it's faster then I type!!!!). So, hey, I'd like to actually get this done, if ANYONE CAN give me some "detailed" feedback regarding HOW TO DO IT!!!

I'm not yelling at anyone when writing this, i'm just frustrated at the fact that i'm unable to actually get this done! I read through it, i've tried even doing the part in tool.exe's SHORTCUT, like the halo shortcut to get you the "console command". And still doesn't help me.

Oh and for those who think this is a halo CE topic, straight up, NO IT'S NOT, i'm trying to mod BLOODGULCH.MAP from..... H A L O P C.... Hmm, I wonder why I chose pc, ..... because I use PC MORE THEN CE!!!! (sorry had to be said before ppl started confusion over that issue). Anyways, aside from my interests being more in halo PC then CE, (my own personal perception that I like PC better then CE overall, but that's just me, so don't flame me for liking PC more, go to a CE forum dude !!).

So, in short, I want to get a mp3 converted to the appropiate .wav, but in the right codec. Extract the bsp whatever from bloodgulch.map in halo map tools 3.5. And, finally implement the "modded" music into it. I know it has to do something with ambient sounds............ BUT WHAT???????

Tired & Frustrated, Fried and Wasted, over exausted & over toasted...... needing assistance.... If you can help me, maybe ppl looking here trying to do it, will "learn how to".

And please, for the love of whatever you believe in, do NOT give me that dang link to the tutorial page for the halo ce background music whatever, because THAT IS WHERE I WENT AND IT DID NOT HELP ME!!!!! It actually didn't do shit! (no offence to the creator of that tut, but dang, put more then "do this this and this, but forget the fact that I didn't really tell you anything". It sounded as if you had a tut for someone who knew how to do it already before they read it, then actually a tut for someone who wants to, and is new to it.....

I appreciate the assistance!

One little thing I don't get is, well, how do I import it into the right spot for the halo map tools list? Becauase I can't find out exactly where I should be going, i've finally got the xbox audio conversion codec whatever installed. (never been able to previously). The wav file is 20% of the original size I originally converted to. (cooooool). It's still a bit on the big size, but i'm trying to figure out where to place it. any suggestions? Because when I rebuild the map, t asks if there are any more indices or verticles, and a sound file is neither, but if you choose yes for the verticles and choose the sound file, you get a somewhat startrek warp speed effect towards blue base on BG with alll the graphics, it's funny.

Anyways, what exact process do I choose to actually get it into the halo map tools program correctly?

Edit: Ok i'm not sure why, but even though the "url" info is correct, i'm not sure what's missing, because it should be a link, heck, even if u tried to, I don't know what's wrong with it, just copy the 2 links, the one u told me, and the other one dude. haha.

Yea, you can't have an equals sign in a url tag, it has to look like this
