well if youre getting the error you must be, om load up your .max file and click on file>>import, navigate o your Halo CE root directory and where it says choose filetype, choose WRL and it should say in your halo CE directory. Now locate the file in there called (whatever your map name).wrl

just load taht up and find the places that are highlighted and fix them.

Hope it helps.

No no, you misunterstood.... he means that you have to import the .WRL file and NOT the JMS file. The WRL file displays the edges that are messed up. When you import, uncheck all of the radio buttons (little dots or checks, not sure, but I know theres three in all, just uncheck them all) and import. Then press F3 which will change your viewport mode into wireframe. Then the little white lines are where the open edges are. From there, you should be able to fix it. This has nothing to do with your exporter, or Chimp, in this case.

EDIT :: I forgot to put the 3 after the F... lol... sry!

Does Gmax even have WRL support?

just open the wrl file... and look for the lines, they indicate the errors... they're dummies. Now look for those and you will see the error. oh btw press F3 to go into wireframemode... and one more tip: once you find the open edges, weld them together by going into vertex selection mode, and select the vertices you want to meld, the open edges that is :)

Tool exports it. I believe next to the JMS, but it might have been straight to C:\ or even Halo custom edition folder. I'm not sure. Just look for it.

Go to file-Import and set it to WRL files and find that file.

Everything that was imported are VRML markers that show you problem spots in the map. To fix open edges, just create a polygon in the open edge to fill it or do whatever you'd like to do to fix it.
If everything looks misplaced, like nothing lines up (make sure you use all the views to see where it is) then you might have messed up on the import settings in Gmax after you choose the file.

theenjoisk8r, I had a similar problem on a level I created with Lightwave.
an easier work around would be to select every last point in your mesh, and weld them together. Worked for me.

That's insane. I assume you had a low threshold then. This will reduce the amount of polygons and how good the map looks though.
