You're joking, right? You just need the halo ded server files and all that stuff. I've never ran one, but I know you don't need to pay for it. That's ridiculous.
well that is an option if u want a server that can host 16 people with like no lag and has a working sv_mapcycle. and if u can make a server out of ur home comp how?
It's done the same way you run a dedicated server for HaloPC, except that the dedicated server file is already included in your HaloCE directory. Search before posting please.

Yeah but some of us prefer a 100 and under ping which is damn near impossible if the Ded. server is on a home computer. Plus it will probably use ALL of your computers resources (except for vid. card) and i don't think you're able to play the game on the same machine the server is running.
yea thats true. and i heard of the $40 thing when i was playing haloce and there was a server named " Rent this server for $40 dollars a month! go to www.[variable].com" but that was a long time ago. [EDIT:note dont clikc on link i have no idea why it is hyperlinked]

I should hope that you aren't actually doing anything on the computer that the ded. server is running on. If you have a cable modem, that'll pretty much do. Paying money is a little too much, I think.
Well actualy.Im working on a new program that simplifies the proscess of making dedicated servers for Halo CE.Its meant for people that dont know how to use command promt.When Im done,Ill post it here.
