3ds Max 6 problem NEED HELP!!!

3ds Max 6 problem NEED HELP!!!

i was in the process af creating a map when i came upone the step of Unwraping the UVW(i am using the video tutorials). After i unwraped it and got it the best it could be, i tried to click on editable mesh and it gave me an error message, it reads

"A modifier exists in the stack that depends on topology. Changing perimaters may have undesirable effects.

The dependent modeifier: Unwrap UVW

Are you sure you want to continue? 'Hold/yes' 'yes' 'no' "

when i click either yes my work at unwraping is deleted and my UVW mapping layer is flipped and reversed so that left is now right and fight is now left. Does anyone know what the problem is, plz help!

when youre doned unwraping or uvw mapping just right click in your perspective screen and click on convert to: editable mesh... i do that and it works way better.... and it keeps your uvw...
