LAN party mod cd's
ok. im gonna host a LAN party. my friend has an unmodded xbox. i wanted to know if i could make a cd or dvd of halo that had a modded version of bloodgulch, for example. i tried making a dvd copy of halo, but bloodgulch.map was a modded, compressed version of bloodgulch (vengeance). when i put the dvd into my xbox, evox didnt recognize it and it wouldnt play. i had the bink folder, the map folder, and the default.xbe. if som1 could tell me how to make a copy of halo with modded levels for an unmodded xbox, i would very much appreciate it! thnx!

You sure about that? How is that unsigned code? The coding is the exact same, the level is just a little different.....No, you can't make a modded Halo cd play in an unmodded Xbox, the whole point of installing a modchip is to get the Xbox to run unsigned code.
MechAssault exploits and stuff run the original MechAssault and pop in a different version of the save....
I'm not sure this wouldn't work....

You sure you burned it correctly? If ppl could just burn a new Halo CD everybody would just make copies of games and nobody would buy games from the stores.
I have a friend who burned a copy of NFS: Underground, i put it in my Xbox with the chip on and it worked, but with the chip off it just gave the DDE
For it to be done right, you want to put it into a .xiso format, and then burn the image of the xiso.....
That may make it work.....

I'm happy, I just successfully modified an old Samaung 616t DVD-ROM to work in my Xbox (I came out of my PC when I put a DVD burner in, darn I'm lucky that it was a 616t), now my Xbox can read ANY media (CD-R, CD-RW, CD-ROM, CD audio, DVD-ROM (originals), DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, and DVD-RW) at 16x, about 3 times faster than even the Xbox Samsung 605 drive.

ok. now i patched several mods and compreesed them to maps. next, i used a hex editor to open the compressed maps in order to change the name. i replaced the title bloodgulch for, say, derelict. when the original title was longer than the new title, i used " . " to fill the space. next i got the new version of halo onto a working cd, but when i selected certain maps, i got the dirty disk error. i m almost positive that i messed something up while hexing. if som1 could give a detailed explanation on changing the name of a level for a n00b, i would appreciate it. thnx!
