Using SparkEdit and using XInect to place in new scenery...

Post by jesusphreak »

I've been trying to use SparkEdit.

I open up the cache003.map, and the correct map (Blood Gulch) opens up. I checked the control menu, but no matter what I do, I cannot select any of the items on the map.

What's the deal?

Also, with XInject, I assumed that I could save the meta of lets say a tree on Halo (the singleplayer map) and then inject that meta onto a tree of the same or smaller size on Blood Gulch. That doesn't seem to work. What can I do?

Thanks!
Platt

I assume I'm not doing anything wrong?

I took the cache003.map off my XBOX harddrive put it on my PC, now am opening it with spark edit. It opens fine, I just cannot select anything at all - and I clicked the pointer tool.

I tried it on my other PC and it does the same thing....

What is wrong?

OK after you open up your map in SE, click o nthe Edit tab on the right, then go to mode, and pick the type of opbject to select. Then the ones that are in red, you can select those.

And you have to be close enough. You can't be across the map. Also, if you use Xinject to ADD a piece of scenery, the scenario tag still wont have the listing of that piece of scenery, so you won't be able to swap it in SparkEdit. Either add the tag using SparkEdit, or figure out how to modify the scenery tag listing in the scenario tag meta... its not hard, but I am tired and don't want to explain it now. Sorry
