Photoshop Question

Photoshop Question

Ok i am following kirks tutorials to mapping in the paint shop pro step. I am using photoshop instead and i get to where you make the alpha map area and i was wonderin how you do this on photoshop. Because i cant find out how to do it.

As far as i know you cant make alpha maps on photoshop, you have to do it in paintshop pro, which can be gotten here, www.jasc.com

dude........plz.

Its not done exactly the way on photoshop pro but adobe has everything in there (except the background transparency is way more complicated than a program called Corel Draw where you can achieve the effect with 1 button).

Use the channels tab (it's next to the layers tab), select Alpha as the current channel. If alpha doesn't exist (if you only see the RGB channels), create a new channel by using the little icon at the bottom of the tab. Select the alpha channel as your active channel and edit away.
