I have been trying to add more Marines to maps, so i could like, have my own battalion of them, and here is what i have done and come across...
I took the warthog and scorpion, and gave them Marine actor variants using HHT so that i would have three extra Marines from the warthog, and four from the scorpion, but in game, they didn't follow me! If i got in the vehicle, they would get in with me, shoot the enemy, all that stuff, but on foot, they wouldn't follow me!
Please help!

Heh, I have no clue to this question, but what I do know is that only the Marines who were meant to follow you will follow you, I love your battalion idea, but from what I can do, I could only find out how to make a stationary platoon camp (which really, really sucks). Anyway, I could be wrong on the stationary Marines (besides when moving in battle), but you might be able to (possibly, i don't know) give it some sort of characterization...like maybe an Elite after it's enemy? I dunno, I'm only a minor minor modder

Hex, it lies in the scripting which we can't control now. AI in sp is controlled through biped meta, actor meta and actor variant meta, then the script controls some actions. I've tried to mess with it in a30--thought it'd be a blast to keep all the dead marines when you crashed alive and have them follow you around the map, but no luck. The script suicides them and they are still dead. Alot of the controls lie in the halo.exe file--just made it easier to do patch updates without patching individual maps. I've not been able to determine where in the exe file that ai behavior is controlled--if I could I would use a no cd exe file so I could edit and play it. There are a few folks messing with the exe file for guerilla for hek and said converting some of it for pc users may be possible but it takes time.
Life is all about having fun.

Are you high man? that doesnt work it gives u an error!Edwin wrote:simpler way to add more marines in SP....
just open the desired map in SparkEdit, copy the marines as much as you want. this MIGHT make them follow you also because you are copying existing bipeds with their own behaveior settings.
good luck

Dude, you have no idea what you mean do you? It always gives an error "Cannot Duplicate Selection" message. What I did was swap some of the Covenant with Marines and put them on the Flood's side, that way they follow you and try to kill you but will also kill the Covenant, so it's basically like you TK'ed em and they still kill the Covenant...So bad thing thereEdwin wrote:simpler way to add more marines in SP....
