[Skin/Fix]Explosive's Shader Restoration Patch

For Users of Pixel Shader/Shader Model 2.0 Capable Cards Only
Tired of the bland, shaderless bitmaps you occasionally find? This patch fixes all that can be fixed. The cause of the bland look of these objects compared to the xbox version of Halo, is missing multipurpose bitmaps. You all know what they are. They dictate where the shader is to appear on the model, and how intense it should be. If it is missing, the result is an object that looks exactly like it would if you had a graphics card without Pixel/Model 2.0 shader capability. I was told that this has been done before, and take no credit for discovering this error. I simply want to make an easy fix available. These multipurpose bitmaps are made by me, and differ slightly from the shaders of the xbox version of Halo. They do, however, look highly similar, and should work well. Sorry, plasma fields will still look like crap, since I can't find out how to fix them.

Screenshots:

UPDATE: VERSION 1.0:

Restored shaders for:

-Health Pack
-Assault rifle and Pistol ammo
-Sniper Rifle Ammo
-Fuel Rod Gun cubemap, 3rd Person (1st Person ran into file format problems)
-Assault Rifle
-Flag
-Longsword
-Ring

There are more fixes, but they're incredibly miniscule.

Please note that I have altered the field of view to my liking in the "with" sections, so if weapons appear "longer", disregard that. It's not in the patch.

IMPORTANT NOTES

-NOT COMPATIBLE WITH HALO CUSTOM EDITION

-MUST BE LOGGED IN TO DOWNLOAD

-Begin with a fresh bitmaps.map. If you use a previously patched bitmap file, you may experience errors with skins. If you want your patched bitmaps anyway, start with a fresh one, apply the restoration patch, then apply the patches you had applied previously. This should take care of any errors.

-Some users have reported problems with the assault rifle and teleporters, saying that multicolored squares have been appearing. I really don't know what caused this, but I'm not having the problem. I would re-upload the rar, but editing won't let me remove the download anymore. If you experience this problem, contact me via AIM, and I will transfer you a new patch.

UPDATE
Users of the European release of Halo can download a (hopefully) working patch from HERE.

Makes me want to resolder an ATI RADEON X1600 on my motherboard.

RIGHT. NOW.

Nyah :P But really all you'd need would be a Radeon 9600. They're much cheaper.

should it also work on a ati radeon 9800 pro?

p.s. it's for pc that card

As far as I know, anything that supports pixel shaders. If you've got the shiny, you're good to go. Why do you PC users always have to make everything simple seem complicated?

But an X1600 would let me run X-Plane good as well. :P But that's enough of that, this is a sweet mod. I JUST WISH I COULD USE IT.

Will be updated shortly with a MUCH better AR Multi. I discovered that making the multi purple gives it an extra range of shiny for that awesome, light-reflecting look.

Outstanding can be discussed, but no guarantees....this is a mod that deserves it. Simple but great.

I was thinking of a sticky, since it's more like a fix that everyone should have than it is a mod. Stickied in both the PC and Mac forums, so it's accessible to all.
