It says only moderators can post there. Is that normal? Cause I see a bunch of topics made by regular users.
I was just gonna suggest Blender for an alternative in 3D Modelling. I assumed SOMEBODY knew about it, but I searched, AND hand checked the utilities forum, and found nothing.
Blender is a 3D modelling program (duh)
It's been used in Spiderman 2, and it's also open source.
It's a little difficult at first, but I guess you'll have to pratise with it.
I have 3Ds max 7, but for people who can't afford it, this makes a nice replacement.

It also allows Python scripting up the ass as many OSS programs typically do nowadays.

I have used Blender to do a lot of my modeling and it's for the most part very good. It's free too so you don't need to worry about cost and new versions are released often. The interface is a bit unconventional, but after some use it become second nature. The only problem is that you can't export directly to the HEK format for CE maps so you are sort of forced to use 3ds max mostly because of compatibility issues. I don't think you can export from blender to 3ds max very smoothly.

Blender is a great program for people who cant afford the more expensive ones...but even now, using 3DS max 8, i find myself opening up blender for its simple and easy to use interface and tools.

I almost coughed up my chicken wings when it said only 6.43 mb!! Now that I'm done downloading, I have to overcome my fear of complex graphic user interfaces. >:(

Do you realise you posted in all caps which is against the rules and very annoying. Also you have already asked this question two times which is more than enough. Just wait patiently for a reply. Besides this isn't the right place to ask this.

hmm, ive tried Blender and it didnt live up to its expectation. firstly, it never found Python no matter what i did and then the program was very unstable
